Windows 8 "original flavor" feels a little weird

This is Windows 8. There's nothing we are able to do about it. It's targeted at consumers, it's touch-enabled from the ground up, and it is a thrilling departure from the old. The compromises made by buy office 2010 professional plus in this release iexcl;sect;C the reliance on old windowing methods is easily the most glaring iexcl;sect;C but it's clear the cloud access, the brand new touch interface including handwriting and finger-based UI handling, and every one of the improvements, such as the slow destruction from the legacy Registry iexcl;sect;C are the proper way to go.

Lots of people will be quite comfortable and looking forward to this OS. Lots of IT guys face push-back, exasperation, and clamoring to return to the original method of doing things. Ultimately, Microsoft will win. It's hard to maneuver a juggernaut, but when its moving don't stand in its way.

Devin Coldewey here. I spent a little time with Samsung's prototype hardware, insufficient to get used to it but enough to obtain some first impressions. It feels a little bulky, but this belongs to the compromise whenever you make something that essentially doubles like a buy cheap microsoft windows . I'd feel perfectly comfortable popping this into the dock and doing a day's work from this.

Switching between cheap windows 8 and Windows 8 "original flavor" feels just a little weird, though it's very snappy and can likely become second nature. I am hoping that Microsoft's developers can make it worthwhile to use both modes, otherwise individuals will end up spending 80% of their time in the part they like, and resent the 20% of time they need to spend within the other.
